What kind of cremation casket or container will you choose?
Cremation Casket or Alternative Container – for the body to be accepted into the retort
Crematoriums require that the deceased remains be placed into a cremation container, also known as an alternative container, or into a cremation casket in order for the body to be received into the retort. Crematorium policy dictates that the remains of the Deceased will not be accepted for cremation unless received by the Crematory within a closed, combustible, leak resistant cremation container. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The alternative container we provide is fiberboard. While an alternative container is required for cremation, you may choose from among a number of cremation caskets and containers that may suit the personality of your loved one as well as the desired of your family. The choice of container is very personal, the type of memorial service you chose will likely have a bearing on the choice of casket and container.
